IMPACT
Impact storytelling is at the heart of Rainshadow Films. We believe that films can do more than just inform, they can inspire, mobilise and drive meaningful change. Our focus on environmental and conservation storytelling has led us to develop award-winning projects that highlight some of the most urgent issues facing our planet today.
Our recent series, The Human Side of Plastic, explores how plastic and microplastic pollution affects human health, giving a voice to frontline communities, scientists, and campaigners tackling the crisis. These films have been supported by global partners and activated through targeted impact campaigns designed to engage audiences across multiple platforms, from festivals and conferences to social media and educational settings.
The strength of our work has been recognised internationally, with awards in 2025 including Best Documentary at the Vienna International Film Awards, Best Environmental Documentary at the Soho London Independent Film Festival, and Best Director at the New York Film & Cinematography Awards, alongside jury prizes and excellence awards across major global competitions. Each accolade is more than recognition of craft, it helps build credibility, visibility, and momentum for the causes we represent.
Our festival strategy is central to our impact. By premiering at leading festivals and building a strong run across international circuits, we ensure our films reach both engaged audiences and decision-makers who can amplify their message. Screenings are paired with panel discussions, Q&As, and community events, turning viewership into dialogue and dialogue into action. At the same time, our distribution strategy extends into digital, social-first content and bespoke campaigns for partner organisations, ensuring the story resonates far beyond the cinema screen.
